We already know that Philippine Bet Maxine Medina will be wearing one of Rhett Eala’s creations at the Miss Universe 2016 this January. But what else do we know about the dress?
Ever since Maxine officially announced her chosen designer on January 10 at the Novotel Hotel in Quezon City, everyone seems to be so excited on what gown she’s going to wear at the finals. But Maxine’s camp is keeping mum about it and chose to give a little sneak peek on what her look is going to be.
According to Interaksyon, Eala told some reporters that the headdress of Ms. Philippines for her National Costume will be made by Jewelmer. He also added that Maxine’s only concern is that she wants a gown that will show off her figure. Maxine has been working on her performance since she won the pageant last April.
Maxine has been working with Eala since she won. In fact, she’s been working with him as his model for a more than five years. Eala described her evening gown as “sexy” yet “elegant”, which some exudes the character fit to be a Miss Universe.
Eala said that it’s different designing clothes for a beauty pageant, wrote CNN Philippines. “It’s different from dressing her for a beauty pageant. It’s not about my design. It’s about her beauty,” Eala said.
Eala designed a total of 11 outfits for Maxine Medina’s activities during the Miss Universe. Although Eala has been updating everyone about a few of the dresses, he’s keeping his lips tight on the evening gown and Maxine’s national costume design.
Maxine Medina has been recently under fire because of a few grammar slips. But Eala said that she gets a lot of flak, but she has improved a lot. Even Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe 2015, asked the bashers to be mindful of their “constructive criticism” because it’s affecting the candidates.
The Miss Universe 2016 will be held on January 30, 2017 at the Mall of Asia Arena, in Pasay.
